July Newsletter | LfuturesThe thought of a relaxing summer holiday is high on the agenda at the moment…and then it will be back to sorting budgets, planning courses that contain an element of online learning, delivering learning technology CPD to staff and, of course, inducting students! Early release CPD resources

Take a look below at the CPD resources that three of the Learning Futures projects have released early and read the spotlight interviews with Tim Strickland and Jenny Craig, two of the project leads.

Tim Strickland, CEO of FE Sussex and Project Manager at Plumpton College talks about the strategic planning toolkit for leaders and governors that Plumpton has developed, together with the toolkit that will support teachers to keep up-to-date with, and make effective use of, technology in the classroom.

Jenny Craig, Vice-Principal at Abingdon & Witney College discusses about how LinkedIn is an effective tool to help staff improve the breadth and depth of their connections with industry and employers, leading to greater opportunities for students to have meaningful careers.

Chris McLean, Project Champion, talks about his work with the leadership and governance strand and, in particular, the value of bringing some of the projects together to act as critical friends and help in the development of resources.

Hannah Brindle, Divisional Director of the Business and Education Division of Virtual College, is our industry representative and one of the leading providers of e-learning in the UK. A date for your diary

Learning Futures will hold a final programme conference in London on Tuesday 6 October 2015. The conference will capitalise on the outcomes from the programme and will provide innovative solutions to support governors, leaders, managers and teachers to engage with and deploy learning technologies effectively.

Attendees will have an opportunity to meet some of the senior leaders and practitioners involved in the projects and to attend workshops that will explore how learning technologies can be used creatively to address some of the key challenges currently faced by the education and training sector.
